YMYF's Steve Adie delivers a pitch last year
The wait is over. The 2007 season schedule was officially released this evening. Each team plays twelve games, with the first game being this coming Saturday, June 9th.

The first game of the new season features a pseudo-rematch of last year's championship game between Tim Kurtz's Salt and Rob Tong's YMYF X-Men. This year, SALT has loaded up with enough fresh blood to enter two SALT teams in the league. Tim Kurtz will open defense of his team's 2006 championship by guiding his Rock Salt team against the YMYF Defenders, helmed by Rob Tong.

That game will be followed by the YMYF Mustard Seeds, run by Joshua Hall, challenging Saltier, led by Bill Van Tuinen.

In Focus returns under the new moniker In Focus Classic under the new leadership of Anne Marie Misovich, the league's first female manager. In Focus Classic will challenge the newly married team Covenant, managed by Chris Carter.

Anthony Halpin returns to lead Crossroads and reigning league MVP Michael Thate against the newly formed In Focus Cowboys, managed by Phil "Cowboy" Nelson.

With three ABFs forming two separate teams in the league, the most naturally intriguing set of matchups in the schedule comes July 21st and August 18th, when each pair of ABF teams square off against one another. Last season, only YMYF had two teams in the league, and the YMYF X-Men swept Cahill's YMYF Crusaders in their two game season series for supreme ABF bragging rights.

Due to the expansion of teams this year, game times have changed. The first game will begin promptly at 8 AM (instead of last year's 9 AM start) and subsequent games will follow on the hour (9 AM, 10 AM and 11 AM). The League has the field until 12:30 PM on game days in case games run over slightly. However, the Clarendon Park baseball team will be using the field after 12:30 PM so we should be as prompt as possible with picking up equipment from the field after the last game.

This season looks to be even more interesting this year than last, so get your arm loosened up and let's play ball!
